Ernest Ray Blankenship, 84, of Maysel entered into rest Thursday, January 19, 2012. Born
June 27, 1927 in Dundon, WV, he was the son of the late Giles and Sobina Mullins
Blankenship.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lora Sampson Blankenship; sons, Ernest Ray Blankenship, Jr. and Larry Blankenship; brothers, Gerald and James; half-brothers, Dempse, Dencil, and Otis;
half-sisters, Gladys and Opal. He was a retired diesel mechanic and welder with
Blackrock Construction.
Ernest is survived by his sons,
Billy Blankenship and his children, Amanda Mullins, Miranda Salisbury, Billie
Pringle and Christopher Blankenship; Stephen and Cheryl Blankenship and children, Jessica and Justin Blankenship; daughters, Peggy and Tom Dawson and their son, Danny; Kimberly and Ray Blake and
children, David and Katelin Thomas; Janet and Keith
Myers and children J.R. and Jody; 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, Charles

Thomas R. Blankenship Jr., "TJ", 20, of West Union, W.Va., and formerly of Elkton,
Va., died tragically Dec. 29, 2011, in Barbour
County, W.Va. TJ was born on July 16, 1991, in Clarksburg, W.Va., but spent
most of his life in the Rockingham County area. He attended Spotswood High School
and graduated from Dodge Ridge High School in West Union, W.Va., in June 2009.
TJ loved the outdoors camping and fishing, visiting amusement parks, hanging
out with friends, listening to the music of Jason Aldean and supporting his
favorite NFL team, the San Diego Chargers.
Surviving are his beloved mother, Tena Mae Painter of Elkton; father, Thomas R. Blankenship Sr. of West Union; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Dorothy
Painter Miller and Wilfred Miller of Broadway; sisters, Shana Coleman of Elkton and Ariel Blankenship and Skye Falls of West Union; and brother, Chance Blankenship , also of West Union. He also leaves behind numerous aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a maternal grandfather,
Richard A. Painter Sr., and paternal grandmother, Patricia Matheny.
He will be laid to rest at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens on
Friday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Richard Early officiating a graveside
service. His body will be cremated.

Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Webb, 72, of Kimberly died January
30, 2012. She was born June 8, 1938, in Kimberly, and was the daughter of the
late Elmer and Mildred Walker Loudermilk.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Webb. She
was the receptionist at Narco Incorporated in Cannelton with over 20 years of
service, and formerly worked at Coal Valley Clinic in Smithers.
Surviving are her children, Lisa Senters and her husband, Chris, of
Culloden, Susan Mitchell and her husband, Lee, of Sissionville and Shawn Webb
and his wife, Marcy, of Powellton; grandchildren, Andrea Fleming, Heather
Fleming, Amber Chapman, Shawn Senters and Harley Webb; step grandchildren, Samantha Blankenship,
Jonathan Blankenship and Dakota Hivley; aunts, Zelma Ohlinger
and Emma Jones; and five great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery
with the Rev. John Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery
Memorial Park, London.

Vonnie Mahood Harper, 58 of Sandyville passed away at her home
following a sudden illness. She was born August 23, 1953 in Jackson County a
daughter of Monnie Fields Mahood of Statts Mill and the Late Gerald Mahood.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Harper.
She is survived by daughters Lisa Jenkins and husband Dannie of
Parkersburg, Trisa Fields and her husband Jodie of Ripley and Sue Ramsey of
Sandyville; brothers Delmer Mahood and Jamie Mahood both of Statts Mill, Elmer
Mahood of Spencer and Terry Mahood of Millwood; sisters Joyce Beyess of

Everett N. "Eddie" Hobbs, 78, of Charleston departed this
life Friday, March 16, 2012. He was born July 7, 1933, in Charleston.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Hobbs and Bessie M. Carper;
and brother, Dallas G. Hobbs.
He is survived by his children, Freddie "Jingo" Dunlap
(Pam) of Ottawa and Tammy B. Edwards of Richmond, Va.; brothers, Paul A. Hobbs
(Mary-Jo), Pat Hobbs, Larry Hobbs and Sherman Hobbs, all of Campbells Creek;
sister, Linda S. Hobbs of Campbells Creek; grandchildren, Brandi L. Edwards,
Michael C. Edwards, Ashley Dunlap, Tosha Dunlap and Matthew Dunlap; great-grandchildren, McKenna R.
Edwards, Kolton R. Blankenship, Tacoma Ramsey, Shaeleigh Dunlap, Carson
Stowers and Alexis Moore; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joyce
Buckalew and her son, J R Weekley, and grandson.
Eddie served his country in the Army during the Korean War, where
he was discharged after being wounded to near death. He was employed at Jeffco
Car Care with longtime friend, Richard "Dickie" Coleman, previously
Coleman's Parking Lot, for more than 50 years, located at the corners of
Laidley and Quarrier streets.
There will be no service at Mr. Hobbs' request.

Lisle E. Burns, better known as Jack Burns, 75, of St. Albans went
home to be with his beloved wife, Ethel Marie, son, Lisle E. Burns Jr., and
parents, Maude and Elihue Burns, on April 1, 2012, at his home after a short
illness. Jack was a longtime resident of St. Albans, and was a retired member
of Kanawha County Schools. He was well-known and loved by all, and a beloved
father, cherished by his family.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth
"Buddy" and Dianna Burns of St. Albans, David and Robin Burns of West
Hamlin, Jim and Helen Burns of St. Albans and Eddie and Tammy Burns of Grandview
Ridge, Red House; daughters and
sons-in-law, Brenda and Kenny Lacy of St. Albans and Jackie and Mike Blankenship of Charleston; 20 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack always said,
"I was related to everybody."
Funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, April 4, at
Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Ave., St. Albans, with Pastor Walter
Allen officiating. Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery, Liberty.

Roy Blankenship,
68, of Amherstdale, went to his Heavenly home Friday, February 24, 2012, from
his residence. He was surrounded by his family that adored him. Born June 24,
1943, at Baisden, he was a son of the late Rufus and Lydia Blankenship.
Also preceding him in death was his father- and mother-in-law, Carl
and Daisy Baisden, who loved him like a son; one grandson, Eric Goodman, and
one step-grandson, Henry Ramsey. Roy was a Christian of the Baptist faith. The
priority in his life was his complete devotion and love for his family. He was
an avid sports fan his entire life and dearly loved his Cincinnati Reds.
Roy also coached many area youths in Miss Softball America. A
retired coal miner formerly employed with Pittston Coal Company, he was a
member of the UMWA Local 1971 where he had served as a past local 1971
president. Roy was so admired by his fellow co-workers that he was elected and
served as Field Representative in the early 1990s.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley Ann Blankenship; one son,
Brian Keith (Lisa) Blankenship of Accoville; three daughters, Tina
(Christian) Petzer of Mechanicsville, Va., Drema

daughter, Rebecca Sue Vinson; one grandson, Brian Edward Woody; three sisters, Easter Blankenship, Nina Vinson and Loretta Vinson; one brother, Paul Vinson and his

sports and spending time with his family and friends at Mud Fork.

Maxine Sue Eads Vance, 70, of Davin, departed this life Tuesday,
February 28, 2012, at St. Francis' Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston [Kanawha Co., WV] after an extended illness. Born November
28, 1941, at Acme, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Clayton
"Hoppy" and Alma Opal Vance Eads.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Jimmie Ed Vance; one
son, Kevin James Vance, and two brothers, Darrell Eads and Jack Eads. Maxine
was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her home. She
loved spending time with her grandchildren, Brooke, Hunter and Cameron. Maxine
also enjoyed raising plants, especially roses, caring for her family, keeping
in touch with out of town family and friends through facebook, and playing
spider solitare.
Those left to miss her are her three children, David (Jennifer)

Shirley Jean Wooten Napier, 74, of Mallory, joined her loving
husband of 51 years in their Heavenly home Sunday, February 26, 2012. She
departed this life from her home, surrounded by her devoted family and friends,
after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born July 24, 1937, in McDowell
County, she was a daughter of the late George and Virginia Stevens Wooten.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Franklin Delano
Napier, and two brothers, Darrell "Midge" Wooten and Bill Wooten.
Shirley was a homemaker and a Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted
wife, mother, and grandmother. Born with a green thumb, Shirley loved to
garden, growing bountiful gardens of vegetables and flowers. She was dearly
loved by all who knew her.

Julius and Ancil Bell. Mary was a salesperson at the former Watson's store in
downtown Logan.

March 7, 2012. Born February 10, 1931, at Micco, she was a daughter of the late
Andy and Effie Ferrell Blankenship.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Sesco Sias; two sons,
Gerry and Brent Sias; one grandson, Roger Duncan; one great-granddaughter,
Macey Duncan, and two sisters, Adilee Gilco and Ruby Wingo. Mrs. Sias was a homemaker who loved
spending time with her family, reading and doing crafts. She was of the Baptist
faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Zelma (Thomas) Duncan of Monaville;
one son, Denny (Diane) Sias of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Letha Mae of Rossmore, Sylvia of Arkansas and Rose of Weston; two brothers, Wendell and Kenny, both of
Huntington; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 14
great-great-grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Angel Duncan; special
friends, Madeline Baisden and Wendy Perry and an additional host of family and
friends.

Logan. Nancy was a loving daughter, wife, mother and a long time employee at
Valley Market and a retired employee of Logan Manufacturing Co. She was a
member at the Orville Holiness Church of Rum Creek.

Marcella R. Pride, 68, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Jan. 8,
2012). She was born Jan. 29, 1943 in Fairmont to Glen and Cleo (Newland)
Menefee, and was raised from the time she was 3 years old by her adoptive
parents, Francis and Betty (Williams) Jenkins.
A co-owner of Pride Plumbing and Heating Inc. since 1975, Marcella
was a volunteer for Wayne County Children's Services for several years, and an
Avon representative for more than 30 years. She attended Green Family Worship
and enjoyed flea markets, antiques, crafts, traveling and spending time with
her friends in Leesburg, Fla. She recently was coaching her grandchildren from
her bed on how to prepare Thanksgiving dinner with her secret family recipes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Menefee;
and brothers, Glen Menefee Jr. and Nick Heston.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernest
"Ernie" Pride of Doylestown; son, Jeff (Lisa) Pride of Burbank; grandchildren, Melissa Love (Brad) Blankenship of Doylestown, Angela Rose (Jordan) Harris

Lansford H. Conley, age 84, of Coalwood, W.Va., passed away Sunday,
April 22, 2012, at the Golden Harvest Section of Welch Community Hospital, "I have fought a good fight, I have
finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4: 7. Born April 15,
1928, in Six, W.Va., he was the son of the late Robert Chilton and Myrtle
Sheppard Conley.
He attended Big Creek High School and went into the United States
Air Force at the age of 18 and was a World War II Veteran serving on Okinawa,
Tenya and Guam and in the South Pacific with the rank of Sergeant. He was a
member of the American Legion Post 8 of Welch, a life time member of the
Handyman Club of America. He received a Physical Fitness Award for President
John F. Kennedy in 1962. He coached a little league baseball team in Coalwood
for several years. He was a WVU football fan, a member of Local Union 6026 of
Coalwood, spending 37 1/2 years in the mines and retired from Olga Coal
Company. He was a community handyman and volunteer helper from fixing kids
bikes to adult house repairs. He helped to repair and renovate the Coalwood
United Methodist Church, the Coalwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Welch
Church of God. He was a skilled wood crafter and loved being in his work shop
with "Carpenter Jesus" as his mentor. He was an avid Bible reader, he
was a member of the Welch Church of God for 32 years, where he was Sunday School
Superintendent, Adult Sunday School teacher and served on the Pastoral
Committee.
Preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, his sisters,
Lonana Conley, Annette Conley Gibson, Leona Conley Quesenberry, Lucille Conley
Campbell; and brothers, Robert Ray Conley and Richard Conley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Norma Richardson Conley;

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first
wife, Dorcas Adean Lester Gibson; two daughters: Barbara Ann Gibson Brinegar and Belinda Kay
Gibson Young; four grandchildren:
Charles and Larry Brinegar, Josh Gibson and Brandy Lynn Young; and all
his brothers and sisters. Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, uncle and friend. He was a band
saw operator and the assistant Moderator and member of the Panther Creek Old
Regular Baptist Church. He belonged to church
for 47 years and was an ordained minister for 40 plus years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and
loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Dave and to mourn his

Boissevain, Va., he was the son of the late Troy Ball Sr. and Laura Hale Ball.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean
conflict. He was a retired miner from Eastern Associated Coal Keystone No. 1 as
a electrician, after 39 years of service. He was affiliated with the Baptist
Faith, last attended the Little Vine Baptist Church, Superior, and was a
resident of McDowell County all his life.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Margaret Hancock Ball in 1998; one son, Donald E. Ball in 1998; one brother,
Troy "Pete" Ball Jr.; and one sister, Mildred Bolen.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Orpha "Penny"
Lester Ball of Roderfield, W.Va.; one daughter, Paula Simpson and husband, the

Ricky Edison Vereen, 47, of the Gardner Loop Road near Princeton
died suddenly Sunday morning, April 1, 2012 at his residence. Born January 28,
1965, in Welch, he was the son of Anna Ruth Blankenship Vereen of Princeton and the late Tommy Vereen.
Ricky was a graduate of Princeton Senior High School and the Mercer
Technical School. Ricky had served with the U.S. Army National Guards and with
the U.S. Army as a Private. He was currently working at Winter Place Ski Resort
as a Security Guard.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Monroe and Stella
Blankenship; aunt and uncle,
Shirley and Gene Starkey; and a cousin, Rebecca Starkey.

Betty Jo Blankenship Dempsey, 79, of Bluefield, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2012, with
her children by her side. She was born June 23, 1932, in Devon, Va., to the
late David and Ida Blankenship.
Betty Graduated from Williamson High School. She was married for 29
wonderful years to the love of her life and childhood sweetheart, S. J.
"Red" Dempsey until his death in 1978. Betty was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Bluefiled and was Bluefield Woman's Club Woman of the
Year in 1978. She was also active in the Bluefield Quota Club, Windy Mountain
Learning Center, The Bluefield Parkinson's Support Group and various charities.
Betty loved to travel. She worked at Bluefield AAA and was an independent
travel agent. She was also a very talented seamstress and an award winning china
painter.
She is survived by four loving children, Gregory Dempsey of Bland,
Va., Linda Quillin and husband Ed of Springboro, Ohio, Larry Dempsey of Bland,
and Alan Dempsey and wife Karen of Richmond, Va.; additional survivors include
11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 4, at 2 p.m.
from the Mercer Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Burial
will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens, Blue-field, Va.

away on April 10, 2012 at Hospice House of Palm Bay, [Brevard
Co.] Fla., following a
lengthy Illness. Born on Aug. 9 1939 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of late
Walter C. Brewster and Bertha Brewster.
She was a long time resident of Bluefield until 3 1/2 years ago
moving to be with grandchildren in Melbourne, Fla. She was a member of the
First Church of the Nazarene in Bluefield. She was a retired franchise owner
for Flowers Bakery in Bluefield. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband,
Wayne Harry; and brothers, Charles Brewster, James Brewster and Vernon
Brewster.
Survivors include daughter, Vera Howard of Melbourne, Fla.; two
grandchildren, Matthew Howard of Fla. and Kristen Daniels (Mark) of Fla.; son,
Robert (Andy) Harry and (Missy) from Lashmeet, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Joe,
Coty, Robert, and Destiny Harry of W.Va.; daughter, Tammy Roland of Montcalm,
W.Va. and two grandchildren, Mike and Josh

p.m. at the Craven-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, W.Va., where the
Rev. Gary Jakes will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn
Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Franklin McKinley Blankenship, 63 of Lashmeet, West Virginia, formerly of Narrows passed away
Sunday, January 1st, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born in
Narrows on January 11th, 1948 and was the son of Helen Fleeman Blankenship and the late Elmer
(Buster) Blankenship.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a
grandmother who raised him, Cindy Fleeman; and sister, Gaynell Montgomery. A United States Army veteran, he was a former
employee of Eastern Associated Coal Company in Herndon, West Virginia. An avid
hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed yard work and small construction
projects. A loving son, father, grandfather, and brother, he will be deeply
missed by his family and all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Helen
Fleeman Blankenship of
Bluefield, West Virginia; a son, Nicky Blankenship and wife Teshea of Pipestem; a daughter, Deborah Staton and husband Greg of Rock; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Juanita

special friends, including a very special friend, Lowell Sanders of Lashmeet.

Billy Joe Lusk, 58, of Berkley Street in Princeton, died Tuesday,
January 10, 2012 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born August 1, 1953 in Bluefield,
he was the son of the late Beady Lusk and Cora White Lusk.
Billy Joe was a graduate of Park Central High School in Bluefield
and had been a resident of the Princeton area most of his life. He was a
retired crane operator with the Dean Company in Princeton with thirty-six years
service. He was of the Church of God faith. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his biological mother, Gilsea Sloane and his stepfather,
Russell Sloane.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Diana Nelson Lusk
of Princeton; one daughter, Samantha Kay Blankenship of Atkins, Va.; two grandsons, D. J.

21, 2012, at The Dawnview Center. Born July 6, 1916, in Ruckman, W.Va., she was

She was also preceded in death by first husband, Justin V. Brown;
her second husband, Henry B. Liller; and 10 siblings, Lloyd Timbrook, Herman
Timbrook, Adrian Timbrook, Bill Timbrook, Allen Timbrook, Virginia Oates, Flo
Swisher, Iona Hott, Alma Lee, and Hazel Ruckman.
Mrs. Liller was a homemaker and had belonged to the Zoar Baptist

Shelba "Luv" Cline, 75, of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, and to join her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on
Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center. Born on March
23, 1937, at Baisden, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Nettie
Christian Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Roosevelt Cline; one son, Tim Cline; one daughter, Rosetta Anderson;
one granddaughter, Jacklyn Rose Cline; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Gary Blankenship.
Shelba, or "Luv" as she was known, was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden. She loved
serving the Lord and being with her church family. She enjoyed working in her
flower garden but her greatest joy came from spending time with her wonderful
family and friends. She had a heart of gold and welcomed everyone into her home
and her heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Shelba and to mourn
her passing include her four sons, Gary Carson (Tammy) Cline, Cody Cline, and

Dolly Adkins, 90, of Justice, went home to be with her Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven
on Saturday, January 28, 2012, from Cabell Huntington
Hospital. Born on October 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late McKinley
and Murlie Blankenship Perry.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her
loving husband Wilson Adkins, infant daughter Mildred, two granddaughters, Lisa
Allen and Tammy Lester, two sisters Elva Fortner and Hazel Lester, two brothers
Hoover Perry and Opal Perry.
Dolly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted Christian who sang and played guitar
in church. She wrote many songs and taught others to play guitar. Her greatest
joy was her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her large
family. Dolly never met a stranger and was loved dearly by family and many
special friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Dolly and to mourn her
passing include her four daughters: June Wistrand of Boca Raton, Fla., Joann
Steele of Williamson, Betty Williams of Beckley, and Anita Peters of
Huntington; her two sons: Johnny Adkins of Pounding Mill, Va., and Jimmy Adkins

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 12 noon at
Mounts Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Staten officiating. Burial will
follow in the Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Dolly will be carried to her
final resting place by her grandsons and other family members.

Kennis Lee Justice, 68 of Justice, went to be with our Heavenly
Father on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center in
Logan. Born on October 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Drewey and Marie
Toler Justice.
In addition to he parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Blankenship and two brothers: Benny and
James Justice.
Kennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle
and friend. He was a retired coal miner
of 25 years and a devoted member and musical leader of the Justice Church of
God. He spent his life sharing the word
of God through his singing ministries.
He enjoyed spending time with his wonderful family and friend and
getting to share the wonderful message of the Lord with others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew
and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Kennis and to mourn
his passing include his loving life companion of 47 years, Zelda Cline Justice
of Justice; his daughter, Melinda (Howard) Carter of Justice; his two
sons: Allen (Cheri) Justice and Jason

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Bill Blankenship; 3 infant children; several brothers and sisters; and her longtime
companion and best friend Warren Dempsey. Lou was a homemaker, a devoted
Christian, and a member of the Devon Church of Christ.

member of the First Assembly of God Church for many years, was a volunteer at
the Elyria Memorial Hospital and was a member of the YMCA Exercise Group.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband, Jolliffe Maynard Thompson, three sisters, Shirley Blevins, Elizabeth
and Opal McKenzie, two brothers, Rev. Charles Wray McKenzie and Franklin Damron
and one Daughter Mary Francis Thompson.

late Albert Ernest Williams Sr. and Dorma Rogers Robinson. Mrs. Presgraves was
a homemaker, and a member of the New Covenant Church in Beckley. She had made
her home in the Beckley area for most of the past 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister
Patricia Darlene Mills Sowards.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Luke
Presgraves Sr. Five children: David Buracker of Luray, Va., Luke Presgraves Jr.
and his wife Nicole of Beckley; Joshua Presgraves of Beckley; Matthew
Presgraves of Beckley, and an adopted daughter Whitney Adkins of Beckley. Her

Floney Laverne Williams Batt, age 90, of Bragg entered the gates of
Heaven on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Floney was born to Luther Fletcher and Lilly Blankenship Fletcher on April 29, 1921, at Rhodell, WV.
She married Alonzo "Toots" Williams in 1937. They were
together until his death in 1979. Floney was a very talented homemaker. She
enjoyed sewing, cooking, making crafts, reading her Bible, and singing gospel
songs. She was a member of the Cales Chapel Holiness Church at Coal City, WV.
In 1995 she married Gilbert Batt and moved to Missouri, where she lived until
his death in 2004. She then returned to live with her daughter Linda Plumley
and husband Lester Jr. Plumley of Bragg, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alonzo Williams and
Gilbert Batt, by a stepdaughter Judith Brown, by six sisters, Dessie Richmond,
Eloise Stone, Zonnie Fletcher, Ruby Fletcher, Joyce Clarke, and Carlene
Sprouse.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda
Plumley and her husband Lester Jr. Plumley of Bragg, a step daughter Carolyn
Austin of Tucson, Arizona, two grandchildren, Jerry Miser and his wife Leigh of

Ocie May Belcher, 79, of Clear Fork, went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. She was born September 26, 1932 in Simon, W.Va., a
daughter of the late Charlie and Ortha Blankenship Belcher. Ocie attended the Sunhill Freewill Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death was her husband Wyatt Belcher Jr.; two
brothers; a sister and three grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons Gerrett "Joe" (Roxanne)
Belcher of Statesville, N.C., Michael (Kay) Belcher of Kopperston, Clifford
(Rachael) Belcher of Sunhill, and Jackie (Carol) Belcher of Claremont, N.C.;
four daughters Sharon Cline of Lynco, Debbie (Teddy) Trent of Sunhill, Barbara
(Billy) Messer of Johnstown, Ohio, and Janet Belcher and companion Gary Tilley
of Sabine; a sister Inez Harvey of Sunhill; a brother Bill Belcher of North

James Larry Overton 69, departed this life Tuesday, March 6, 2012,
at his home surrounded by his loving family following a long illness. Born July
25, 1942, in Davin, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Mary Vada Bailey
Wooten.
James was a retired coal miner having worked for Eastern Associated
Coal Co., he enjoyed fishing, a NASCAR fan, loved fixing things he was known as
the "fix it man"; his words were that "he loved Jesus". He
was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first
wife, Linda L. Brown Overton; a daughter,
Christina Hope Blankenship; two stepsons, Kenneth Brown and Kevin
Brown; and a brother, Richard Wooten.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy J. Overton
of Cyclone; two daughters, Rena L. Runyon and husband, William of Cyclone and
Kimberly Overton of Princeton; a stepson, Timothy Brown and wife, Suzann of
Crab Orchard; a stepdaughter, Tina Smith and husband, Sid of Toler, Ky.; three

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving
husband, Don R. Browning; one daughter, Mary Ruth Browning; five brothers: Buster, Mack, Michael, Jessie and Johnny
“Buck” Kennedy; and three sisters: Susan
Lester, Ruby Browning and Sarah Morgan. Martha was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist
Faith. She will be greatly missed by all
who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Martha and to mourn
her passing include her three sons:

Kenneth Ray Blankenship, 87, of Kopperston, formerly of Proctor Bottom, went to be with
the Lord Friday, May 4, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, after a sudden illness. He was
born January 19, 1925, at Six Mile in Boone County, a son of the late Millard and Nora Stollings
Blankenship.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Riffe Blankenship; one daughter, Sheila Jean "Cookie" Blankenship
Walden; one granddaughter,
Jennifer Jones; one sister, Sylvia Mae Adkins; one step-daughter, Ernestine Thomas; and
one step-grandson, David Prince. Kenneth was a retired coal miner formerly
employed with Amherst Coal Company for 25 years. He was a member of the UMWA
District 17. An Army veteran, Kenneth served during World War II in Germany and
France. Kenneth enjoyed talking about the Lord, gardening, fishing, and
hunting.

Riffe Stacy. Ticky was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired Coal Auger operator.

and companion Eddie Pruitt of Oceana; a son Ricky Stacy and wife Annette

husband Eric of Van and Donna Walker and husband Keith of Oceana; two brothers

"One life will soon be past, only what is done for Christ will
last." The Rev. Silas W. Mullins Sr., 90, of Pineville, was called home to
be with his heavenly Father on Monday, April 16, 2012, with his loving family
by his side. His journey on Earth is complete, and now he is accepting his
eternal reward. Born Dec. 18, 1921, in Crumpler, he was the son of the late
Oliver and Pearlie Belcher Mullins. Rev. Mullins was a true man of God. He was
a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His two great passions were his love
for the Lord and for his family.
Silas attended Northfork High School and then served in the U.S.
Army. He was a veteran of World War II where he received a Purple Heart. After
his service in the Army, he worked as a coal miner until his retirement. The
Rev. Mullins was a minister for 64 years. He served the Pentecostal Church of
God as district secretary/treasurer for six years, and then District
Superintendent for six years. He was pastor of Twin Branch Pentecostal Church
in Twin Branch, W.Va., for 18 years. After his retirement, he was an active and
faithful member of the Rockview Pentecostal Tabernacle in Rockview. Until his
declining health, Silas enjoyed preaching the gospel at various churches
throughout his community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
youngest son, Terry Wayne Mullins on Feb. 12, 1972. He was also preceded in
death by a brother, Curtis Simpson and two sisters, Gladys Church and Gertrude
Sizemore.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years,
Stella Tabor Mullins; his oldest son, Silas Mullins Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of
Pineville; granddaughters, Ashley Smith and her husband, Gary, of Danese and
Kara Shupe and her husband, Greg, of Beckley; great-granddaughters, Allison
Shupe and Grayson Smith; and a step-granddaughter,
Ericka Blankenship and her husband, Robert, of Louisville, Ky. Silas is also survived
by brothers, Wiley Bill, Donald and Harold Simpson; sisters, Heidi Sizemore and
Leona Muncy; special caregiver, Wanda Farley; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Silas' life will be 1 p.m., Thursday, April 19,
2012, at the Christian Fellowship Worship Center, Twin Falls Road, Pineville,
with the Rev. Bill Goode, the Rev. Patty Post, the Rev. Raymond Bishop, the
Rev. Paul Lusk and the Rev. Donald "Doc" Adkins officiating. Burial

she was the daughter of the late Tobias and Vadie Mae Halsey Byrd. Mrs. Blankenship was an avid hunter and fisherman. She
loved camping and walking at Twin Falls State Park. She was a loving wife of 60
years to her husband and a mother of two.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Ray Blankenship.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two
brothers, Bobby Furrow and Earl Furrow. Mrs. Sinecoff was a lifelong resident
of Ravencliff and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband, Rudolph Sinecoff; two sons, Rockey
E. Sinecoff and his wife, Janet, of Ravencliff and Joseph M. Sinecoff and his
wife, Ann, of McGraws; three daughters, Carolyn S. Beck and her companion,
James, of Mt. Airy, N.C., Sharon K. Lester of Appomattox, Va., and Angela

heaven, on Monday, February 6th, 2012, from her residence. Born on August 26,
1928, at Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Tolliver C.
“TC” and Mary Jane Baker Combs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving
husband of 56 years, Raymond Kenneda; three children: Ronnie, Frankie and Glenna; her brother,
Beach Combs; and two sisters: Bubie
Estepp and Dorothy Kenneda.
Evalyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and
great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Apostolic House of Faith. Evalyn loved
the Lord and loved going to church and spending time with her wonderful church
family. She also loved gardening,
playing in the creek, and just being outdoors.
She loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She never met a stranger and her arms were
always open to give a hug. She will be
greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
