Gerald Michael Hegarty, 86, of Eagle,
passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He was born in Upland on April 18, 1925
to John and Margaret (Cahill) Hegarty.
He grew up on a farm near Heartwell and
graduated from Heartwell High School in 1941. Gerald
farmed for many years and later worked as a bio-medical equipment technician
for Veterans Administration Hospital in Lincoln before retiring. Gerald served
in the U.S. Navy during World War ll. He was a founding member and long time president of AFGE Local #2219 at the Veterans
Administration Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great
grandfather.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Camilla, of Eagle; sons,
John and Michael Hegarty, of Eagle; daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Gary Blankenship of Kearney; Colleen Anderson of Lincoln;
Barbara Hegarty of South Bend; Theresa Hegarty of Lincoln; Carolyn Hegarty
of Eagle; Laura and John Douglas of Lincoln; Bonnie Suarez of Lincoln; brother,
Tom Hegarty of Kearney; six grandchildren, three
great grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,
two sisters, and three brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January
10, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Heartwell.
Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Heartwell.

Dallas "Butch" Ray Bottcher, 86, Wilber, Neb., formerly Lincoln, died Thursday
(3/18/10) at the Wilber Care Center. Born March 8, 1924 at home in Lincoln to Edmon
A. and Freda (Willman) Bottcher.
Dallas graduated a semester early from Lincoln High School, joined
the Navy in 1943, and served in WWII as a Gunner's Mate, 2nd Class, aboard the
SS American Arrow, SS Connestoga, and SS Platte
Bridge in the Asiatic Pacific, European African, and the Middle Eastern areas
until 1946. He received the WWII Victory Medal and the American, Asiatic, and
Middle East ribbons. Upon returning home from the war, Dallas enrolled at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a Fine Arts major
and a Commercial Art minor. He was a member of Delta Phi Delta Honor Society.
He married his childhood sweetheart and the girl next door, Bernice James,
August 3, 1947. Dallas graduated from UNL in 1950. After graduation Dallas was
employed at Capital Engraving, Ayres Advertising, UNL Extension Division, the
Journal Star, Harney Advertising and Wahoo Built. In 1973 he became self employed and did artwork for many companies and
individuals in the Lincoln area, until his retirement in 1996. Dallas enjoyed
hunting, fishing, taxidermy, stained glass, painting and photography. He
entered many of his pictures and paintings in the State Fair, and numerous
Local Art Shows. Dallas invented the Artist's tool, "ArtCadi",
and ran the business out of his home for many years. He was recognized as a
member of the "Who's Who of American Inventors" in 1995. Dallas was a
member of Christ United Methodist Church, The Lincoln Artists Guild, The
Nebraska Art Association, Oil Painters of America, The U.S. Navy Armed Guard
WWII Veterans, and an honorary Admiral of the State of Nebraska Navy.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernice (James) Bottcher, Wilber; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tim
Golden, Lincoln; grandchildren, Sean Golden, Chicago, Ill., Erin Golden,
Lincoln, Caitlin Golden, Lincoln; sister, Shirley Blankenship
, Huntington, W.Va.; nephews, Terry
Blankenship , and Mark Blankenship , Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral Services will be held Monday (3/22/10) 3 p.m. Lincoln
Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln. Visitation
one hour prior to Monday services.

Anne Kaimmer Berger, 93, of Seward, died
of heart disease on January 7, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Sioux City,
Iowa. Anne was born Anna Kaemmerer on July 4, 1917,
in Ware, Mass. Her mother, Anna Mattson, came from Sweden. Her father, Jacob Kaemmerer, had been born in Germany.
She and her siblings were raised at the (Swedish) Christian
Children's Home in Holdrege. The family changed the last name to Kaimmer to make it easier to pronounce. When Anne graduated
from high school, she was awarded the first place in the State of Nebraska in
the Regents Exams. She graduated from Wesleyan University in Lincoln, and
became a teacher of biology and math. In 1941 she married Jacques Berger of
Seward. They spent most of their sixty years together in Seward.
Jacques died in 2001. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and
her four siblings (Jake, Steve, Emily, and Ray).
She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Blankenship (William) of Sioux
City, Iowa; and Gayle Backes (Alvin) of Omaha; six
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the Seward United Methodist Church on Saturday,
January 15 at 11 am. A luncheon will follow the service.

Jean E. Whitemore, age 88, of McCool
Jct., died Friday, February 25, 2011 at York. She was born on February 13, 1923
at Fairmont to Zadok and Eva Della (Sweet)
Stephenson. Jean was married to Frank W. Whitemore on
August 3, 1946 at Fairmont. The union was blessed with two children, Sandy and
Steve. Jean was a member of the First Lutheran Church in McCool Jct. She also
belonged to the quilter's group at First Lutheran.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Al) Blankenship of Waverly; son, Steve Whitemore of Lincoln;
grandsons, Erich (Kim) Whitemore of Fremont, Cory Whitemore of Lincoln and Nathan Blankenship of West Point; granddaughters, Kris (Wes) Hunzeker
of North Platte and Michelle (Bony) Looky of Lincoln.
Jean is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Halla
and Edem Looky of Lincoln;
brother, John (Mary) Stephenson of York; sister-in-law, Isabelle Whitemore of Fairmont and nieces and nephews.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers, Leslie
and Bob Stephenson; sister, Darlene Hafer; and
grandson, Tim Blankenship.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February, 28, 2011 at the
First Lutheran Church, McCool Jct., NE with the
Reverend Becky Sells officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Ridge
Cemetery, McCool Jct.
