of Cottonport will take place at the St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church of
Cottonport on Thursday, January 19, 2012, beginning at 11:00am. Burial services
will commence at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Rosemary Jeansonne, age 78, passed away
at the Rapides Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 15, 2012. She is
preceded in death by her; husband, John Anthony Jeansonne;
parents, George & Myrtle Ducote Cassidy; son,
David Jeansonne; nephew, Tim Ducote.
She is survived by her; daughter, Suzanne Brouillette

Richmond, Kim Sullivan, Amy Burckel, Shannon Jurado, Jennifer Michel and the late Chad Jurado. Great grandmother of Kevin and

Ella was a native of Moreauville and a
resident of St. Bernard Parish for over 55 years. She was well loved and
affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart, and will be deeply
missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held
at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road,
Chalmette, LA, on Thursday, April 7th from 11:00AM - 1:00PM, followed by a
Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial
Gardens.

H. F. "Sonny" Blankenship, 96, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, from complications
of pneumonia.
Sonny was
predeceased by his devoted wife of
57 years, Ruth, and is survived by five children - Lela Highsmith, Safety Harbor, FL; David Blankenship, Hurtsboro, AL; Barbara Wroth, Rancho Cordova, CA; Beverly McFadden,
Emmaus, PA; and Jim Blankenship, St. Petersburg, FL - as well as one sister, Mary Claire
Daniels, St. Petersburg, FL. He also leaves seven grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28
at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida
Boulevard.
Sonny was an avid
golfer in the Baton Rouge area, primarily at Webb Golf Course, where he made
the only two holes in one of his life at age 85. He played at that golf course
for over thirty years and made many friends there.

Rosie Lee Hayes died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 7:11 pm at her
residence. She was 83. Chapel services will be held on Tuesday, February 15,
2011 at 2 pm, with Pastor Keith Sherridan officiating
at the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou.
Survivors include five daughters Pamela Hayes, of Barber Spur,
Jacqueline Arnaud and Fiance, Leroy Gallow, Jr., Penny Granger and husband, Joe, Laura Fuselier, and husband Charles, all of Mamou,
La, and Billie Jean Landreneau and husband, Johnny of
Westwego, La.; one brother, Wilburn Harper of Tennessee; three sisters, Estelle Blankenship, of Tennessee, Mary Ruth Barnes of
California and Jessie May Shannon of Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Guy Hayes;
parents, Argle and Lucy Bell Harper; two brothers,
Homer Harper and Doyle Harper; three sisters, Hattie V. Crocker, Shirley Sue
Lowe and Florence May Crocker.
Visitation will take place at the Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan,
Tenn. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm Services;
Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 2:00
p.m., at First Christian Church, 1400 W. University Ave. at Congress, in
Lafayette, for Jean Leonard, age 78, the former Jean Shirley Clark, who passed
away Friday, November 19, 2010 at Meadowbrook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette. The
Rev. Ted Standley, pastor of First Christian Church,
will officiate at the service, with a reception following in the church hall.
Jean Shirley Clark was born in Dallas, TX on December 23, 1931, and
grew up in Fort Worth, TX, graduating as Valedictorian at North Side High
School in 1949. She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, majoring
in Elementary Education. In Fort Worth she worked at Leonard's Dept. Store and
at Southern Production Co., where she met her future husband, Bud Leonard. They
married in 1952 and moved to Baton Rouge in 1953. In 1955 the Leonard couple
and their two young children moved to Lafayette, where they had two more
children and raised their family. Mrs. Leonard moved to Arnaudville in 1979, then returned to Lafayette in 1996. Since 2006, Mrs. Leonard
resided at Camelot of Broussard.
Mrs. Leonard continued her education at USL. She taught
Kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church, Preschool at Stepping Stones Nursery
School, and substituted at public schools in the Lafayette area. Mrs. Leonard
also worked for Smart Corporation processing medical records. Mrs. Leonard was
a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include one sister, Joanne Morton of Paradise, CA; three
daughters, Betsy Palmer and her husband Kerry of Lafayette; Laurie Leonard of
Plaquemine; Amy Anderson and her husband Doug of Baton Rouge; one son, John
Leonard of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Chris Palmer and Charlie Palmer of
Lafayette; Bryan Anderson of Houston, TX; Alesia
Anderson of Baton Rouge; and her former husband, W. A. "Bud" Leonard
of Arnaudville. Mrs. Leonard also leaves behind three nieces of California,
Cathy Brimm, Suzanne Craig and Holly Morton and their
families in California, Washington and Florida.
Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Hilary Clark and Lilly Ray Blankenship Clark; and two infant siblings, Joseph Hilary Clark, Jr. and Mary
Catherine Clark.

Ovide Alleman (1935 - 2012). Funeral
services will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Evangeline
Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Ovide Alleman, age 76, who passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at
1:35 a.m. at his residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Cedar Hill
Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Benton, pastor of Living Glory Church, will officiate
at the services. Pallbearers will be Brian Alleman,
Trevor Alleman, Douglas "Joe Douglas" Badon, Casey Stephens, Colby Stephens and Chase Stephens.
Mr. Ovide was a native of Carencro and a
resident of Lafayette. He never met a stranger. His charismatic demeanor and
outgoing personality led him to people whose lives he changed forever. A loving
husband, caring father, faithful friend and entrepreneur, he was a hard worker.
Whatever Ovide set his mind to, he accomplished. He
began his career in the oilfield, working for Frank's Casing Crew for
thirty-seven years before establishing Alleman's
Water Well Drilling Company. He was a member of Living Glory Church, where he
helped for many years. Ovide was a man of faith and
courage, serving as an evangelist, ministering in prisons and winning souls for
Jesus. If you would ask him, he would tell you that his assignment on this
earth was first, leading people to Christ. Ovide is
now in heaven, his real home, celebrating with all of those he led there.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Alleman
of Lafayette; one son, Brian Alleman of Rayne; three daughters, Lora Alleman

Marion "MiMi" Tricou Drake passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26,
2010. Marion was a resident of Lakeview for 56 years at 601 Lane Street. Her
hobbies included sewing for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed
knitting, cooking, ceramics and entertaining. She had the pleasure of being a
member of a very close ladies card group for 50+ years. Her greatest memories
included spending years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with five generations of
her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Mailhes
Drake, and her brother, Manny Tricou.
She is survived by her six children, Tom Drake (Donna), Jane Flower
(Patrick), Roger Drake, Julie Drake, Ann Harvey (Sedge), Lynn Drake Clark (Berke); grandchildren, Eddie and Davina
Drake, Travis Flower (Vaile) and Julie Flower Klibert

brothers Earlton Allen and Donnie Allen and sister
Catherine Allen.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ernest Byron Blankenship; daughters Tammy Curry

McPherson and Gloria Brumley and her special nephew Sammy Ray Blankenship.

Services for Mr. Kirby
Smith Blankenship, 94, of
Pleasant Hill, were held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 25, at the Spring Ridge
Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Duncan officiating. Burial followed at Beulah
Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of
Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel.
Mr. Blankenship
died Saturday, February 23, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He
was born in Pleasant Hill, where he resided all of his life. He was a farmer,
and pipe fitter, and was a member of the Progress Presbyterian Church, and the
American Legion Post No. 300, in Pleasant Hill. He was a Mason.
He is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Norma Jean Brown of Shreveport, Mrs. Mary Ellen Cook of Pleasant Hill; one brother, Clyde
Blankenship of Pleasant Hill;
one grandchild; and one great grandchild.

8, 2011 with her loving family at her side.
Loving mother of Shirley Fox (Scott), Mary Daray (Merlin), Cathy Blankenship
and the late James Pino. Proud grandmother of Tonya Menendez,
Charlie Fox, Sara Fox, Michelle Pecoraro, Cherie Fabro, Joanna Daray, Anthony Blankenship, Nicole Henry and 12 great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Audre R. Yates Byrd
and Randall C. Byrd. She was also survived by numerous loving nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her as well.
Age 74, a native of McLain, MS and resided in St. Charles Parish
for the past 10 years.

Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie. Interment was

Blankenship and Sara Shaneman, and four brothers: Arthur, Eckford,
Winfred and Wilburn Lummus. She was the beloved and
dedicated mother of Mare F. Sollberger (Ken) of
Mandeville, LA, Jerry A. Fulgham of Bossier City, LA,
Betty F. Weathersby (the late Alan) of Wesson, MS and
Ken R. Fulgham of Flower Mound, TX. She was lovingly
known as "MiMi" to her grandchildren

Corporal Trent
William Robert Blankenship,
25, died Saturday, March 10th, 2012, while in the service of our country as a
member of the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in
North Carolina. Trent was a brave soldier and a true hero. He was an excellent
USMC machine gunner and served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.
He is survived by his mother, Colleen DeWalt
of Covington, his brother and
sister-in-law, Jeremy and Michelle Blankenship
of Mandeville his wife and
stepdaughter, Carly and Gianna DeConinck, grandfather Glenn Blankenship, and
grandmother, Julie DeWalt. He also left behind two nephews, Preston Benjamin and Paxton Blankenship, and a niece, Peyton Blankenship. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His
little cousin, Charlie DeWalt, was extremely close to
Trent.
He was preceded in death by his father, James B.
Blankenship, his grandmother, Myrtle Blankenship, his grandfather, William DeWalt, and two Marines that he referred to as his
brothers, Kyle Schnieder and John Taylor.
Trent loved life and he loved his friends and family dearly. He had
many friends that he considered family and their kids called him “Uncle Trent”.
He had too many close friends to name but all those who knew him will never
forget his bravery and sincere friendship.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the
funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause
Blvd. West (In Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, March 21, 2012
at 11:00am. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery,
