Delemia "Dee" Carolyn Johnson, 59, of Columbus, Ind., formerly of Russell Springs, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, in Columbus. She was born on April 12, 1950, in Russell Springs, the daughter of the late Granville Perry and Mary Irwin Johnson. She was a cook at the Scooters Restaurant and loved to sew, quilt, and be with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Royce Johnson, whom she married on April 26, 1997, in Russell Springs; six children, Kathy (and Ronald) Blair of Russell Springs, Carolyn Marie (and J.D.) Burns of Indianapolis, Ind., David (and Missy) Johnson of Franklin, Ind., Barbara (and Shane) Walters of Eli, Ky., Cynthia (and Ellotte) Dalton of Mitchell, Ind., and Jennifer Blankenship of Russell Springs; 16 grandchildren, Tobi Jo, Taylor, Randy, Jared, Skylar, Roy, Shane, Miranda, Thailee, Austin, Sierra, Hunter, Vanessa, David, Dylan, and Brayden; a great grandchild, Bailey Jo Brant; two brothers, Phillip Johnson of Russell Springs and Gene Johnson of Fairland, Ind.; and six sisters, Margaret Burgess of Indianapolis, Louise Hobbs of Anderson, Ind., Betty Brumley of Jamestown, Ky., Judy Anderson of Russell Springs, Sue Chumley of Russell Springs, and Gwen Lawhorn of Russell Springs.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Granville P. and Mary Johnson; a granddaughter, Brittany Blankenship; two sisters, Wanda Johnson and Ruth Bunch; and a mother-in-law, Nerotha Johnson.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Poynter officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

A memorial service for Francis “Naomi” Blankenship Robinson Alford, 88, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Legacy Funeral Center, Jeffersonville.

She died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Clark Memorial Hospital.   She was born May 27, 1923 in Meigs County, Tenn. She was retired from Kentucky Metal Products. She was a member of Parkwood Nazarene Church, Order of the Eastern Star Jeffersonville Chapter, AARP, the Senior Care program at Clark Memorial Hospital, Tops and Jump.

She is survived by six children, Torchye Parsley and her husband, Kenneth, of Palmyra, Teena Halbig and her husband, Edward, of Louisville, Toni Rake, of Boca Raton, Fla., Teala  Trent and her husband, Gary W., of  Clarksville, Henry Alford Jr., of Louisville, and Ida Clarkson, of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Jewell Burkhardt, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Gaye McGinnis, of North Carolina; one brother, Sam Blankenship and his wife, Shirley, of Evansville; nine grandchildren, Jimmy Parsley and his wife, Debbie, Faith Young and her husband, Mike, Denise McLaughlin and her husband, Jim, Jane Whobrey and her husband, David, Bobbi Finch (David Rainwater Jr.), Angie Chandler and her husband, Kris, David Clarkson, Douglas Clarkson, Henry “Hank” Alford III and his wife, Heather; 12 great-grandchildren, Scott, Brandon, Jamie, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Jimmay, Colin, Eric, Evan, Tyler, Corey, Cameron; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Loretta Graduated from Staunton High School where she was valedictorian of her senior class. Loretta married Charles " Bill" Deakins March 25, 1944. Loretta started her banking career at Merchants Bank in Terre Haute. She then went to work for Brazil Trust Co. as a bookkeeper. She retired from banking at First Bank and Trust as a director and Vice President. Loretta attended Wisconsin Banking School for three summers. Loretta was a past member of Peniel United Methodist Church, and had more recently become a member at the First Christian

Melissa Kay Clark, 44, of New Point passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011. Born Aug. 2, 1967 in Peru, Ind., Melissa was the daughter of Edward and Patsy (Blankenship) Harvey of West Harrison.

She married Jack Clark of West Harrison June 22, 1991. Melissa was a homemaker and a member of New Point Christian Church.

She is survived by her parents; her husband, Jack; a daughter, Josie Elizabeth Clark, of New Point; a son, Jonah Clark, of New Point; a brother, Scott (Dawn) Clark of Mitchell and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. the same day, Mark Vice officiating. Burial will take place at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point.

Jimmie R. "Smiley" Parham, age 77, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011, at The Waters of Muncie following an extended illness. He was born June 9, 1933 in Muncie.

He graduated from Muncie Central High School and worked for White's Trucking, Stoops Trucking, and Marhofers as a mechanic. He retired in 1997. He was a member of the BASS association and the Eagles Lodge Arie #231. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and sports. He also enjoyed time spent with his family.

He is survived by Four Children: Robin Pickett, Tony Parham, Clayton Parham, and Lee Parham. Three Granddaughters: Ashley, Anna, and Adrienne. Six Brothers and Sisters: Thomas (wife Alice) Parham, Brenda Bush, Ralph Hannon, Becky (husband Danny) Little, Cathy Rairden, and Chester Foust. Aunt: Dorothy Blankenship. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Marguerite Foust and Lee Parham and Four Sisters: Janice Atkins, Wanda Reagan, Sharron Husselman, and Vicki Bricker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Walter Eugene "Beanie" Leibering, 88, Huntingburg, died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at his home. He was born at Dale on July 17, 1923, to Walter and Geneva Leibering. He married Alberta Meyer on May 23, 1942.

Surviving are his wife, Alberta Leibering; five sons, Donald, Gary, Douglas, Stephen and Richard Leibering, Huntingburg; a brother, Wesley Leibering, Huntingburg; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Truman and Robert Leibering, and a sister, Katherine Blankenship. Mr. Leibering retired from Dubois Wood Products. He had been an avid bowler, camper, Little League coach and fisherman.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.

Betty J. Stults, 63, of Elkhart, passed away at 7:58 p.m. Jan. 27, 2012, in Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on Dec. 7, 1948, in Pilgrim's Knob, Va., to Wyatt and Patricia (Blankenship) Compton.

In 1977, Betty married Randy Stults in Elkhart and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Angela (Blake) Pierce of Elkhart; sons James C. (Joann) Williams Jr. of Bristol and Jason (Emily) Stults of Elkhart; grandchildren Brandon and Alex Pierce, James, Jenna, and Jacob Williams; and sisters Beatrice Horn of Tennessee, Jean Williams of Goshen and Bessie Sparks of Tennessee.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers Jim and Chet Compton; and sister Sue Perry. Stults Betty was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, interior design, and was a big Michigan fan.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home with Pastor Dr. William Hemming officiating. Burial will follow.

Services have been scheduled for Charles Edwin Lantz, 76, who died of natural causes Feb. 23 at 12:12 a.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. A resident of Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen, he had also lived in Millersburg and Middlebury.

Graveside services will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg, with the Rev. Stan Godfrey officiating.

He was born March 23, 1934 in Kosciusko County, to Jerome and Lena (Paugh) Lantz. Charles attended New Paris High School and pursued a career in law enforcement after graduation in 1952. He attended Fort Wayne Police Academy, graduating in 1961. Throughout this 35-year career in law enforcement, he served as an officer and rose to the rank of chief for several departments. He served in Manchester, Van Buren and Wabash counties, and the towns Millersburg and Middlebury. After his retirement from law enforcement, he pursued a career in the private security field. He also enjoyed woodworking.

He was married to Janice F. Speicher Dec. 9, 1961. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Kristine (Carl) Marshall, Goshen; and two sons, Ira "Ed" Lantz, Goshen, and Paul "Pete" (Geraldine) Lantz, Bristol; sister, Donna (Richard) Haberstich, Goshen; niece, Connie (Marvin) Chupp; two nephews, Bruce (Vicki) Haberstich and Kurt (Deb) Haberstich; seven grandchildren, Oren Miller, Charles Miller, CeeJay Marshall, Katie Lantz, Alisha Lantz, Latosha Stalter and Selina Evans; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle Stalter, Lana Stalter and Luke Blankenship.

Jenner Stanley Sundt, 80, of Connersville, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, July 31, 2010 in Connersville. He had been in failing health for the past six months. Born July 17, 1930 in Stanley, N.D. one of six children of the late Ole and Dora (Simonson) Sundt.

At the age of six, he moved to Attica, with his family and was a 1948 graduate of Attica High School. From 1953 until 1955, he served with the U.S. Army. From 1955 until 1961, he was employed with Harrison Steel Castings of Attica. On Nov. 27, 1957, he was married in the Christian Church at Williamsport to Janet Pearl of Attica. She survives. They came to Connersville in 1967 for residence.
From 1961 until 1982, he was a Licensed District Manager for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. and from 1982 until 1989, he was an independent manufacturer's representative. He was a field representative with the Indiana Lottery Commission from 1989 until 1995.

Jenner was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, F&AM, the AMVETS and a former member of the Moose and Elks Lodge and the Connersville Country Club. He enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, spending time with family and friends and was an avid Purdue and Cubs fan.

Also surviving, with his wife of 52 years, are: two sons, Jay Sundt and fiancé, Joanne Dannenberg, of Ft. Wayne and Jeffry Sundt of Indianapolis; a daughter, Jayme (Michael) Moriarty of Connersville; three grandchildren, Simon Patrick, Kramer Andrew and Kendall Elizabeth Moriarty, all of Connersville; two sisters, Hope Blankenship of Attica and Pru Blankenship of Lafayette; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Stevens and two brothers, Dwayne and Garlyn Sundt.

Visitation will be held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6 with a graveside service to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.

She was the former Hazel Timberlake, a native of Harrison County, Ind. She was the retired owner of Kelley Electric Co. and a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her sons Lynn G. Kelley (Ellen) of Louisville, Joseph A. Kelley (Becky) of Bloomington; brother Lester Timberlake of Lanesville; sisters Evelyn McRae of Charlestown, Dora Seeley of New Salisbury, Rosaline Davis of Lanesville, Esther Jo Stewart of Louisville and Betty Woertz of Elizabeth; grandchildren Marie Klink, Jennifer Strube, Erin Kelley, Jill Billups, Rachel Ferrazzi and Jay Kelley; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Gordon Kelley, daughter Kitty Sue Strube; brothers William and Arlie Timberlake; sisters Mary Lee Blankenship , Doris Allen and Lois Ruberts; and parents Joseph and Esther Timberlake.

Alice Irene (Derringer) Robbins, age 92 of Veedersburg, died at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at The Waters of Covington. Alice was born in Danville, Ill. on August 2, 1917. She was the daughter of William H. and Nellie Mae (Frazee) Derringer.

She lived in Williamsport for many years before moving to Veedersburg in 1985 where she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law until moving to the nursing home in 2006. Alice married Elmer R. Robbins in Dixon, Ky. on August 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1992.

Alice was a homemaker. She worked for several years at Smith Studio in Attica tinting pictures. She was a former member of the Christian Church of Covington. She wrote, "It was always my desire to be a very devoted mother and homemaker, be an avid reader, do crossword puzzles, and hold family get-togethers."

Surviving are four sons, Ron (Debby) Robbins and Rick (Mary) Robbins both of Lafayette; Randy (Nancy) Robbins of Mays Landing, N.J.; and Rock (Kelly) Robbins of Veedersburg, a daughter, Gina (Wayne) Blankenship of Veedersburg, a sister, Maxine Crisp of Perrysville, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, fourbrothers and a sister.

Services were held at Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport Thursday, July 8 with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Interment was held at Highland Cemetery.

Amanda Elizabeth Murray Blankenship, 82, of Veedersburg, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at The Waters of Covington. She was born in Clay County, Ky., on Nov. 20, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Delmar B. and Mary Jane Greer Murray.

She was raised and educated in Clay County, moving to Veedersburg in 1950. On May 8, 1948, she married Clyde Henry Blankenship in London, Ky. He survives. Mrs. Blankenship worked as a dipping technician for many years at Radio Material Corp. in Attica. She was a member of Sterling Church of God and enjoyed mushrooming, fishing and taking care of her family.

Surviving with her husband are eight children, Walter Ed Blankenship (wife: Vicky), Gary Wayne Blankenship (wife: Gina), Ralph Dennis (Christy) Blankenship and Leisa Ann (Scott) Minick, all of Veedersburg, Kathy Nadine Poll (husband: David) of Covington, Karen Jane Clodfelder (husband: Alan) of Covington, Martha Karolyn Rookstool (husband: Mike) of Willis, Texas and James "Jim" Earl Blankenship (wife: Marcia) of Attica; two sisters, Bethel Schaeffer (husband: George) of Covington and Nadine Sample (husband: Cliston) of Veedersburg; and a brother, Edmund Murray, Tavares, Fla. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee and Clyde Dale Blankenship, both in August of 1984, and a grandson, Marc Richard Billingsley, June of 1991.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg.

Eva married Dale Layman on Aug. 26, 1942, and he preceded her in death. Eva was a homemaker that enjoyed crochet and being outside in her garden and working with her flowers.

Survivors include children Shirley (Joel) Clark, Fairmount, Richard (Lori) Layman, Marion, Bobby (Sendee) Layman, Marion, Patricia (Bob) McGothin, Virginia Beach, Va. and Donna (Lee) Roberts, Marion; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her dog Ed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Rachel Cotrel, Leona Blankenship and Hazel Johnson.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Casey Lloyd Chapel, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, with Chaplain Don Miller officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Georgie Lee "Pete" Blankenship, 80, of Arcadia, IN, died on June 10, 2010 at his home. He was born May 5, 1930 at Lafayette, TN, the son of Versie Almer Blankenship Woods and stepfather, Tobe Woods. Pete was a member of the Meadowville Missionary Baptist Church at Lafayette, TN.

He moved to Indiana in 1952 and was employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company at Noblesville, retiring from there in 1982. He then worked for the Noblesville Ledger for approximately 10 years. Pete and Lorene Browning Blankenship were married December 24, 1966 and lived in Cicero for several years. They later retired to country life in 1986 east of Arcadia. Lorene preceded him in death in 2000.

He loved to bowl with his wife and friends and traveled to many tournaments through the years. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Wisconsin and Canada, camping, traveling throughout the country, spending time with his family and raising an annual garden. He also dearly loved his Maltese pet "Abbie" who has kept him company for the past 14 years.

He is survived by sons: Lloyd Wayne (Debbie) Blankenship of Noblesville, step-sons: Aubra Mondal Browning (Gloria) of Madison, IN, Coy Browning (Sue) of Cicero, IN, Gary Browning (Vicki) of Arcadia, IN, step-daughter: Sandi Bergstrom (Bud) of Cicero, IN, grandson: Jason Blankenship (Brenda), granddaughter: Alicia Blankenship, great-granddaughter: Kendra, great-grandson: Drake all of Sheridan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two step-sons: Denver Browning and Tom Browning and an uncle Roy Blankenship.

Fishburn.

She is survived by 1 daughter:  Shirley Fishburn Green, Scottsville, Ky; 1 son: Larner Ray Fishburn, Indianapolis, In; 4 grandchildren: William V. Holmes, Phoenix City, Al; Raven Green, Greenwood, In; Amber Montgomery and Raymond Victor Fishburn, both of Indianapolis, In; 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews: Truman Blankenship, Delmis Walker, Charles Stafford, Carl Fishburn, Barbara Brooking, Kathryn Graves, Lewis Stafford, Aaron Walker, Vickie F. Holmes, Betty L. Wolfe, Linda Cherry, Marty Hensley, Peggy Wolfe and Debbie Smith and several great nieces and great nephews.

William T. Lucas Sr. died following a long illness. Born in 1918 in Highland Park, N. J., he was a son of Ernest and Stella (Griggs) Lucas. He married Dorothy Lohmann in November 1944. She preceded him in death. He married Jacqueline Chimento in 1985 and she survives.

He graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1936, where he played hockey and football. For a short stint, he played on a semi-pro football team in New Jersey. During his senior year of high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves and attended night school at Middlesex County Vocational School. He was mobilized into active duty in 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer on convoy duty in the North Atlantic and Panama Canal area aboard the USS Goff. He ended his tour of duty on the USS Hanson in 1945. Following his service, the Lucases moved to St. Louis, Mo., where he received a certificate of engineering from St. Louis University. He was transferred to Indianapolis in 1953 by Magic Chef to manage the Federal Foundry Division. After leaving Federal Foundry, he worked as a process engineer for Allison. After leaving Allison, while employed at American Bearing, he built tooling part-time for the Breiner Co. In 1962, he and Lindley Peacock purchased the Breiner Co. The non-metallic die cutting business has remained in the Lucas family ever since. Mr. Lucas served as president and vice president of the International Chief Petty Officers Association. He has been a member and active supporter of Kingsway Christian Church for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Speedway American Legion Post, a life member of the NRA, a past member of NMLRA, and a past member of Marion County Fish and Game Association.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Jean Diehl and husband John; son, Bill Lucas Jr. and wife Fran; step-daughters Patti Brackett, Christi Chimento, and Pam Taney and husband Mike; grandchildren John Diehl and wife Meg, Amy Rienow and husband the Rev. Robert, Emily Anderson and husband Lucas, Joseph Lucas and wife Sarah, William Lucas III, Jacob Lucas and wife Sabrina, Meghan, Missy and Josh Brackett, Joe Chimento, Dustin Blankenship, and Aaron Chimento; and 23 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Ed; a sister, Myrtle Woerner; and a stepson, Mike Chimento.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will be at Danville South Cemetery.

She was a life-long resident of New Castle, and was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She was very involved with her family's activities, and loved sharing time with them, and cherished the special times spent with her grandson. She also enjoyed nature, outdoors, hummingbirds, gardening and spending time with friends. She was a former member of the F.F.A.

Left to cherish her loving memory include: her husband Tom Hopkins, whom she married June 19, 1964, one daughter; Donna M. Jones (Fiancé: Charles Crump) of New Castle, one son; Mark Hopkins (friend: Sherry) of New Castle, one grandson; Alexander Jones (girlfriend: Christina Hurst) of BloomIngton, one sister; Dixie Walters of Indianapolis, one niece; Leslie Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., an aunt; Louise Clayborn of New Castle, aunt and uncle; Levi and Rosemary Muncy of New Castle, also several cousins.

Linda was born July 6, 1947, in Columbus, to Charles E. Thompson and Margaret Jeanne (Crider) Thompson. She married Norman “Norm” Blankenship Jr.; he preceded her in passing May 12, 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Caudill of Franklin; a son, Brian (Carla) Blankenship of Marne, Mich.; three granddaughters, Grace Caudill, Ava Blankenship and Alayna Blankenship; and two sisters, Deb Pahl of Trafalgar and Janet Morris of Clarksville, Tenn.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Norm Blankenship Jr.; and a son-in-law, Jeff Caudill.

She attended and graduated from school in Lebanon, Ohio. Linda was employed by the Franklin City Court for many years. She later worked at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Franklin. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Franklin Elks Lodge Auxiliary.

The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North), Franklin. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Mary Alice (Blankenship) Mann Coulson, 94, of Greenwood, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011. She was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Somerset, Ky., to George and Lesta Etna (Nelson) Blankenship, who moved their family to Indianapolis in 1922.

Mary graduated from Southport High School and attended Indiana Central College. She was a professional registered parliamentarian and served many local, state and national organizations professionally. Mary was a past president of Indiana State Association of Parliamentarians, Indiana Parent Teacher Association and Vinzant Registered Par­liamentarians. Mary was vice president of Hoosier Capital Council Girl Scouts from 1965 to 1968 and a charter member of Southport Christian Church. She was the office manager of Man Seed Farms, the family business, for 40 years, retiring in 1981.

On Dec. 4, 1937, she was married to Oren Winfield Mann. He passed away in 1973. They were the parents of O. William Mann (wife L. Diane) of Merom and Karen J. Mann of Georgetown. In 1968, the family moved to Sullivan. On June 27, 1981, Mary was married to Alan Coulson of Sullivan; he died in 1987. During this marriage she was a member of Sullivan Presbyterian Church, where she served as elder and also a moderator of Ohio Valley Presbytery. In 1998, Mary moved to Greenwood Village South, where she enjoyed visiting with lifelong friends and making new friends.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Roy, Raymond, Victor and VernonPeteBlankenship; and two stepsons, Lee and Tom Coulson.

She is survived by a sister, Grace Misiniec of Franklin; a brother, William “Junior” Blankenship of Indianapolis; her two children; two stepchildren, Zoe Coulson of Philadelphia and John Coulson (wife Sue) of West Lafayette; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Southport Christian Church, 201 E. Epler Ave., Indianapolis. A private graveside service will be conducted at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.

Paula loved the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club, horseback riding and rock 'n' roll music.

Survivors include three daughters, Tasha Stahl, Rochester, Lacey Blankenship, Warsaw, and Cassidy Blankenship, Gallipolis, Ohio; two sons, Shannon Stahl, Warsaw, and Joshua Stahl, Warsaw; four sisters, Sherry (Leonard) Blanton, Rochester, Elaine (Ron) Trumbull, Warsaw, Patty Jacobs, Warsaw, and Linda (Tom) Stapleton, Warsaw; one brother, Robert (Penny Hamilton) Shelton, Warsaw; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Jo Evans, on March 24, and her father, Everett P. Meadows, on July 3, 1995.

On July 11, 2010, he married Darla Gawthrop, who survives. Mike lived all his life in the Elkhart, Goshen and Kosciusko County area. He worked in the RV industry for many years. He was a member of NorthWebster American Legion Post 253. He loved life, music, dancing, his family and always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife, Darla Brown of North Webster; daughter Natalie Pen; son Travis Pillow; step daughter Deanne Blankenship ; step son Stoney Gawthrop; six grandchildren; and sisters Cheri (Ron) Stauffer of Goshen, Patricia Gay of Milford and Janet Michael of Midland, Mich.

Jackie R. Scott, 70, of LaGrange, Ind., died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at his home.

In 1961, he moved from Kentucky to LaGrange County. Mr. Scott had worked at Grumman-Olson in Sturgis as a plant manager until his retirement in 2003. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of LaGrange Church of God in LaGrange. Mr. Scott was a family man who was very caring and loved being with his family. He loved to cook and bake, to do yard work and gardening, and watch sports. Mr. Scott was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Lackey, Ky., to George and Vernie (Whitt) Tuttle.

On Nov. 14, 1987, he married Penelopye Miller in LaGrange. Mrs. Scott survives in LaGrange. Also surviving are two daughters, Theresa Blankenship of LaGrange, and Jade Lynn Scott of Bristol, Ind.; two sons, Rick Scott of California and Mark C. Nelson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a grandson, Adam Blankenship of LaGrange; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vickie and JW Combs and Rebecca King all of Stroh, Ind.; and five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Willard and Glenna Tuttle and Hugh and Mary Tuttle all of LaGrange, Keith Tuttle of Stroh, Ralph and Mary Tuttle of Big Turkey Lake, Ind., and Wendell Tuttle of Angola, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mickey Tuttle.

He worked for 36 years at Morgan Olson in Sturgis, Michigan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Maggie worked as a press operator at American Rubber Company for 18 years. She was baptized, saved and was a child of God. She loved everyone and was a selfless and forgiving Christian woman. On June 14, 1986 in La Porte she married John Daisy, who survives.

She is survived by her husband, John Daisy of La Porte; three daughters, Gena (Eric) Blankenship of Kingsford Heights, Jane (Doug) Clemons of La Porte, and Jacquelyn (Justin) Lucas of La Porte; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, several brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Maggie was preceded by her parents, one grandson, Eric Blankenship; one brother, Boon; and two sisters, Mary and Mae.

Preceded in death by her parents: Verne and Marion (nee Harbach-Kerr); brothers: Vernon, William, Richard and Ray.

Private services per family. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 330. She owned and operated Lulu's Kitchen at Pudlo's Tap in Hammond.

Madie Mardell Grimsley, 82, formerly of this area, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2009, in Indianapolis. She was a homemaker and a daughter of the late John and Dora Jane Lester Froedge and wife of the late Jessie Grimsley. She was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son: Marlon Grimsley (companion, Leah Reddick) of Chesterfield, Ind.; one sister: Nell Hines of Edmonton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Grimsley; brothers, Buell, Wallace and Paul Froedge; and sisters, Gertrude Blankenship and Perrie Hurt.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade, with Bob Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Star Church Cemetery.

Dennis W. Vann, 56, formerly of Chesapeake but lived in Attica, Ind., for the past 23 years, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was the son of Ellen P. Vann of Chesapeake and the late Henry Q. Vann. He was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church and employed by Norfolk Naval Shipbuilding and Drydock before moving to Indiana.

Along with his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Randall P. Vann. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, James “Lenny” Vann; two sons, Brandon Q. Vann and Jacob K. Vann; two daughters, Victoria Kippes and Shawna Blankenship; and grandchildren, Braden and Kayla.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, with Pastor Dave Libengood officiating.

Anna Katherine McCullough was born April 28, 1982 to Tim and Carol (Karst) McCullough in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up in Noblesville, Indiana. She attended school in Noblesville, graduating with National Honors in 2000 from Noblesville High School. Anna went to the University of Wisconsin in Madison majoring in German and Psychology with a Business minor, graduating in May 2005 with honors.

While in high school, she worked and payed her way to visit the Peruvian Rain Forest. She attended the University of Freiburg, in Germany her junior year in college. While there she traveled Europe extensively.

Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer 3-4 weeks before graduating from college and returned to Noblesville after graduation to begin her cancer treatments. After completing her treatments in 2006, Anna became interested in jewelry design and sales and became employed at Smith's Jewelers in Noblesville for 2 years where she was asked to design jewelry for friends. While employed at Smith's she studied and earned Gemology and Pearl Certifications. Furthering her career in fine jewelry sales, she became employed by Hofmeister Jewelers in Indianapolis in the spring of 2008 and was sent to Las Vegas to study diamond grading.

In October 2008, Anna was again diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in her spine. In the spring of 2010 cancer was found on her spinal cord nerve endings. She received treatments at IU Cancer Center, where she participated in experimental drug therapy and Riverview Hospital in Noblesville for radiation treatments. During 2009-2010 Anna traveled extensively visiting relatives and friends in Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Michigan and Illinois and Cabos.

Joanne graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She married Clarence Fredrick Trennepohl February 23, 1952. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper during most of her adult life. She was an avid reader and loved animals. Joanne was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church for 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; sons, Gregg, Brian, Dean, and David; grandchildren, Jason Trennepohl, Rachel Blankenship, John Trennepohl, Dan Trennepohl, Joe Trennepohl, Kiley Trennepohl, and C. J. Trennepohl; great-grandchildren, Emma Blankenship and Luke Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen.

Iva D. Blankenship, 82, passed away at 10:01 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. Iva was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Lutts, Tenn., the daughter of the late Marvin and Clara (Rich) Holt.

She married Floyd Blankenship on Sept. 19, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2007.

Iva retired in June 1992 from the Oak Hill School Corp. She was a member of the Woodland Hills Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, tending to her flowers, crocheting, reading her Bible and visiting the shut-ins. Iva most loved spending time with her family and walking with her friends at Swayzee Elementary School.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Larry) Winn, Kokomo, and Twila Blankenship, Marion; grandchildren, Erica Scott, Marion, Amber Scott, Marion, Jason Scott, Indianapolis, Dawn (Andy) Brenton, Fayetteville, Ga., and Kevin (Elesha) Winn, Murray, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Jalen Scott, Marion, Dakota Scott, Peru, Noah Winn and Eli Winn, Murray, Ky., Alec Brenton, Aden Brenton and Ava Brenton, all of Fayetteville, Ga.; two sisters, Yvonne (Bobby) Price, Cypress Inn, Tenn., and Hazel Woods, Marion; a brother, Doyle (Lula Belle) Holt, Lutts, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Iva was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Smith and Wylodean White.

John Franklin Mooris, Captain, US Navy Reserves (Retired), 82, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born October 23, 1928 in Kansas City, MO, to William R. and Nellie Mae (Burns) Morris.

John attended St. Peter Catholic School and Southwest High School in Kansas City, MO, and Kemper Military School in Boonville, MO. During this time, he was in the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout at age 16. After high school graduation, John enlisted in the US Navy and for 2 years was a Corpsman in the Fleet Marine Force in Quantico, VA. Upon completion of his service in the Navy, he attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, (where he was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity) and graduated in 9151 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. John did research work on rocket motors used by the Navy during the Korean War, and was a pioneer in the plastics industry, publishing numerous research papers in the early development of that industry. At the same time, he became an officer in the Naval Reserves, retiring after 30 years, with the rank of Captain. After his retirement from the Navy and James River, John worked as a consultant in plastic packaging of food products with various manufacturers throughout the country. During this time, the Morris clan was on the move from Merriam, KS, to Orange, TX, to Greensburg, IN, to Kansas City, MO, to Wayne, NJ, and finally to Indianapolis, IN.

John married Barbara Ryan on February 23, 1952 in Kansas City, MO, and they were married for 59 years. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church for more than 30 years, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and served on the Funeral Meals Committee. John was also a member of the Citizens Academy of the Marion County Sheriff's Department, an active member of the Military Officers' Association of America and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Karen (Jack) Smith, of Columbiana, OH; sons, Michael (Jill) of Islip Terrace, NY, and Frank (Debby) of Camby, IN; granddaughters: Becky Smith, Leslie (Kyle) Blankenship, Helen Morris, and Heather Terry; grandsons, James Morris and Todd Hilton; also great grandchildren: Libby, Trenton, Kenzie, Brayden, Juliana, Landen, Morgan, and Liam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Nellie Mae Morris; his sister, Dorothy Morris; and grandsons, Matt Smith and Luke Morris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 11 a.m., at St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 E. Edgewood Avenue (Edgewood & US 31 South), Indianapolis, IN 46227.

Paul Kenneth Keller, Jr., 74 of Indianapolis, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. Paul was born June 17, 1937, in Benton County to Paul Kenneth and Dorothy Blankenship Keller. They preceded him in death as did his beloved wife, Norma Jean Buck Keller, and his sister, Dorothy Sturgeon.

Mr. Keller was a 1955 graduate of Otterbein High School. He was a sales manager for Midwest Warehouse Corp., where he retired from in October of 2006. Mr. Keller was a 52-year member and past master of the Otterbein Masonic Lodge No. 561, a past worthy patron in the Otterbein Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Boone County Antique Tractor Club, and a very active member of his church, Bethel United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. The simple pleasures of life brought Paul the greatest enjoyment. He was well known for his outgoing, caring personality, his patience and for being level-headed. Mr. Keller was a man that did not know a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to a person in need. Being with his family was where he was the happiest, whether watching his children or grandchildren at their sporting events or helping with the Belgian draft horses. If it was with his family, he was there right in the middle of it all! He loved to share his passion for photography. Paul was known to take pictures at the grandkids' sporting events and then give the photos to all the parents whose kids where on the team, always at no cost to anyone. He was a Civil War enthusiast, loved to woodwork and enjoyed auto racing. Paul found joy in all life had to offer!

Mr. Keller is survived by children Teresa K. Koopman of Lebanon; Beth (Steve) MacGill of Indianapolis; and Steven (Linda) Keller of Lebanon; grandchildren Elizabeth Hendrix, Nick MacGill, Abby MacGill, Emily Keller and Megan Ellis; great-grandson Marcus Ellis; brother Bill (Betty) Keller; sisters Paula (Henry) Fuller, Marilyn (Richard) Shonkwiler and Richlynn (Robert) Ostrander.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 5252 W. 52nd St., Indianapolis. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow the service at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Armstrong Cemetery, Green Hill.

Rev. Floyd C. Blankenship, April 9, 1929 - November 9, 2011, Indianapolis, IN

Reverend Floyd C. Blankenship passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Community Hospital East. He was born in Lafayette, TN on April 9, 1929.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Latris Graves. In the 1950's Floyd and brother Dennis started a Blue Grass Band, "The Blankenship Brothers". They also had their own Record Label- "Skyline". In 1959 the song "Mary" was in the top 10 nationally. In 1967 Floyd accepted the Lord as his Savior. Floyd was founder and pastor of the True Word Baptist Church for the past 40 years where he was also the founder of the Kings Servant Quartet. He worked at Stokley Van Camp for 38 years retiring in 1989.

Mildred Ruth Carpenter, Jan. 24, 1915-Sept. 2, 2011. Mildred Ruth Carpenter of Bloomingdale died at 7:20 a.m. Friday in her residence. She was 96. She was a homemaker her entire life. She was a 1933 graduate of Wallace High School She was born on Jan. 24, 1915, in Brown Township, Montgomery County, to George Roscoe and Myrtle Faye (Hallett) Keller. She married Ira DeWitt Carpenter on June 10, 1936, at Crawfordsville. He died April 10, 1994.

Survivors include: sons, DeWayne (Marcia) Carpenter of Rockville and Eddie (Marsha) Carpenter of Crawfordsville; brother Mike Keller of Wallace; daughter-in-law, Gladys Carpenter of Wallace; son-in-law, Mike Blankinship of Bloomingdale; 12 grandchildren; and several greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Sons Larry and Phillip Carpenter; daughter Janet Blankinship; grandson Michael Blankinship; and four brothers Norman "Bud," Denzil "Red," Tom and Billy Keller are deceased.

Joseph B. DeWitt, 62, of Boggstown, died Monday, March 28, 2011, surrounded by his family. Born Jan. 25, 1949, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Joseph Homer and Jane DeWitt.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jeannie DeWitt; children, Michael (Tina) DeWitt, Christopher (Amy) DeWitt, Shane DeWitt, Michele (Chris) Warren and Melissa (Billy) Scott; grandchildren, Joel, Aaron, Tucker, Josh, Denise, Sarah, Stacia, Grace, Mackenzie, Kristina and Joseph; brothers, Stephen DeWitt I and James (Mary) DeWitt; sister, Linda (Brian) Blankenship and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Brian Keith Blankenship. Mr. DeWitt graduated from Whiteland Community High School in 1967. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. Mr. DeWitt was an insurance salesman and had managed The Village Bowl bowling alley prior to working with Norman Zahn, learning to install carpet. He eventually started his own carpet business, retiring from his company in 2005. Joe's hobbies included caving, fishing, shooting pool and going to the casino, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

Family and friends will gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

On February 16, 2011, the Lord called Mary Jo (Baldoni) Blankenship. Mary Jo believed in living life to its fullest and laughing along the way. She brought joy to every life she touched and will be sorely missed by many. The world has lost her bubbly smile and sense of humor that brightened everyone's day. Mary, we all love you and will see you in heaven.

Mary was born November 19, 1958, in South Bend, IN, to the late Joseph A. Baldoni, who preceded her in death on September 22, 2006 and Phyllis (Poynter) Baldoni of South Bend, IN. On August 29, 2004, Mary married the love of her life, Curtis Blankenship, who survives. Also surviving is her mother, Phyllis Baldoni of South Bend, IN; a stepdaughter, Lisa (Jerry) Ellinger of South Bend, IN; a stepson, Jerry Blankenship of Mishawaka, IN; four step grandchildren, Brianna, Hunter and Jayden Ellinger, Braydon Blankenship; a sister, Beth Ann Baldoni of South Bend, IN; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mary was a Pharmacy Technician with Memorial Hospital for 27 years. She graduated from Adams High School in 1977, and attended Holy Cross College and Indiana University.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.

Richard J. Blankenship, 57, of Shelburn, went to his well-deserved Heavenly rest on Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Sullivan County Community Hospital. Born Feb. 10, 1953, in Sullivan, he was the son of Norval Blankenship and Mary K. (Arnold) Blankenship. He married Donna Mears on Dec. 17, 1983, and she survives.

Richard was a graduate of Rosedale High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and later joined the Indiana National Guard. He was a staunch supporter of the Sullivan County Humane Shelter, participating in their foster pets program. He was well known for random acts of kindness, often paying bills or buying groceries for those in need. Despite suffering painful disabilities, he was an inspiration to others, continuing to live life to the fullest.

He will be forever missed by his father, wife, two sons, Dennis Robins Jr. and wife Penny of Terre Haute, and Brian Robins and wife Angela Myers of Terre Haute; three sisters, Ruby Johnson and husband Tim of Burnett, Deborah Sons and husband Michael of Terre Haute, and Stephania Kaiserling and husband Stephen of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Stephen Blankenship of Fontanet, and David Blankenship of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Brandon, Brayden, Riley, Ashlyn and Shalyn Robins, all of Terre Haute; parents-in-law, Sandra Blair of Terre Haute, and Billie and Patricia Mears of Carbon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and John Abel, Pamela and Barry Girton, Rita and Edward Johnson, Sherry and Fred Gordon, Roger Blair, James Blair, and Sherry Mears; as well as a large and loving extended family and innumerable friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Darlene Wilson.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., with the Rev. James Neice officiating. The Terre Haute Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 will perform military burial rites at the funeral home following services.

Ernest C. “Ernie” Brown, 66, of Lafayette, died on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital East. Born on February 27, 1944 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Jesse and Bertha Helton Brown.

He married Julia “Julie” Ellison on October 31, 1968 in Otterbein, IN and she survives. Mr. Brown was owner/operator of Ernest Brown Roofing and Remodeling. He retired due to health in 2005. He had previously worked for Speers Building Materials in Lafayette. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and building cabinets and shelving.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters: Debbie Brown and Rita Schneidt (husband, Roger) both of Lafayette, and Ann Keen of Virginia; two sons: Ernest “Tony” Brown, Jr. (wife, Tammy) of Lafayette and Randall Blankenship of Virginia; two sisters: Ruby Lester (husband, James) and Nancy Brown both of Virginia; and one brother: Leroy Brown of North Carolina. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.

Service Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hippensteel funeral home. Burial to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Rondel "Ron" Lee Blankenship, 74, of Lafayette, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1936, in Muhlenburg County, Ky., he was the son of the late Osby and Belva Hardison Blankenship.

On June 2, 1958, he married Wilma J. Shamp and she survives. Mr. Blankenship worked for Purdue at Throckmorton Farm near Romney as farm manager for 41 years. He was a member of Elston Presbyterian Church, Eagles Lodge 347 and the Elstonites.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Joy Senasac, (husband: Steve) of Lafayette, and Peggy Mattison (husband: Mark) of Chesterfield, Mo.; one son, Gary Blankenship (wife: Angie), of Linden; two sisters, Betty Boggess (husband: Junior), of Greenville, Kentucky, and Cora Mae Holbrook, of Louisville, Kentucky; and one brother, Harold Blankenship (wife; Joetta) of Lafayette. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Angela Arnold (husband: Matt), Heath Blankenship, Hayden Blankenship, Kelli Mattison, Michael Mattison.

Preceding in death with his parents are a sister, Corrine Lee; a grandson, Paul White; and a son-in-law, Allen White.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca R. (Bob) Zeck of Lafayette and Karen S. (Scott) Eisert of West Lafayette; two sons, Thomas E. (Ann) Hubbard of Peru, Ind., and Timothy W. Hubbard of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Dale (Mary Ann) Thomas of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, Chris Zeck, Adam J. Blankenship , Tina Zeck, Stacy Peterson, Candice Goss, Brent Hubbard and Emilie Hubbard; four great grandchildren, Taylor Blankenship , Tye Blankenship , Aiden Zeck and Isabella Goss.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Thomas, Ross Thomas, Doyt Thomas, Glen Thomas and Carl Thomas; a sister, Edith Harner; a great-granddaughter, Dinah Zeck. She worked as a nurse's aid, and in Central Scheduling at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her cats and dogs.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, with visitation one hour before the service at Simplicity Funeral Care, 1608 Schuyler Ave., Lafayette, Ind., with the Rev. Sunday Bunch officiating.

Her husband, James Elliott Arnett Sr., preceded her in death on June 11, 1975.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Karen and Lou Ater, Jamie and William Smock, and James E. Arnett Jr. and Paula Arnett, all of Terre Haute; four grandchildren: James DeLoach Jr. of Terre Haute, Colette Straschnov and her husband George of Sarasota, Fla., Ryhn Smock of Indianapolis, and Karly Smock of Boulder, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Sydney and Marina Straschnov.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ida Neff; a brother, Leonard Curtis Neff Jr.; and a sister, Maxine South.

 Addie and her husband, James, founded Jim's Cleaners and Jim's Tux Shop in 1955. They operated multiple stores in Evansville, Ind., Mattoon, Ill., and Terre Haute. She worked in the business since its formation in 1955 and was the recipient of the "Businesswoman of the Year Award" in 2004. She was a past member of the Woman's Department Club, Country Club of Terre Haute and Elks Club, and volunteered extensively at Union Hospital.

Private funeral services and burial in Highland Lawn Cemetery will take place Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.

She retired in 2001, as a charge nurse from Westview Hospital.

She is survived by her children, Mark Anderson of Westfield, Michael Anderson and wife Christi of Lebanon, and Lisa Anderson of Avon; seven grandchildren, Kimberly and Sierra Anderson, Patrick, Andrew, Christopher Anderson, and Tyler and Jack Solomon; great-grandson, Caleb; sister, Marcella Blankenship and husband Norval of Terre Haute; two brothers, Richard McDaniel and Ted McDaniel and wife Sandy of Terre Haute; and her beloved Pug, Brittney.

Betty Christine Boyd, 80, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012. A daughter of the late John and Sarah (Randolph) Meadows, Betty Christine was born in White County, Tenn., May 25, 1931. Better known as "Chris," she was one of 11 children.

After her mother passed away the family moved first to West Virginia then Indiana where she met and married Harold E. Boyd in the summer of 1948. Harold passed away in 1964. Their loving union produced five children, Steven (Maureen) Boyd, Teri (Billy Ray) Brumfield, Gina (Mike) Hay, David (Bambi) Boyd and Kevin A. Boyd who died on April 15, 2000.

Chris worked as a cook and bartender at several area businesses which include the Legion, Worl's, Marco's and Hilltop Drive-In where she was working when the Lord called her home. She attended the Dublin Gospel Mission Church, was past President of the American Legion Post 169, member of the Board of Directors at the Dublin Community Club where she also joined the Walking Club. Chris was always willing to help whenever needed by the Do-Gooders Club and Ambassador Nursing Home for special parties. A favorite project for her was raising money for St. Jude Hospital. Chris relaxed by reading, playing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Chris is also survived by seven grandchildren and one step granddaughter, Poppy (Mike) Livingston, Jennifer (Rick) Mofield, Joshua Hay, Jamie (Tim) Butcher, Jessica (Steven) Cooper, David E. Boyd and Jeremy Eden; 12 great-grandchildren, Henry and Lucinda Livingston, Alyssa and Jeff Mofield, Autumn Stegner, Reagan and Timothy Butcher, Lathan Boyd, Haley Blankenship , Caitlyn, Belle and Elizabeth Cooper; three siblings, Harold Meadows, Pauline Snyder and Melba (Keith) Wickes; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Boyd and Bea (Charles) Perin; many special friends including Margurite Clark and Becky Davis; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chris was also preceded in death by five siblings, John Jr., Sylvan, Verlin, Freeman and Robert; and two stillborn siblings.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Steve Cox of the Dublin Gospel Church will officiate.

Evelyn M. Bobilya, 95, of Columbia City, died at 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Avalon Village, Ligonier where she had been a resident since 2005. She was born Aug. 7, 1916 in Albion, a daughter of Victor and Clara H. (McLallin) Edwards.

She attended Albion Grade School and graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1936. On March 20, 1937, she was united in marriage to Eugene W. Bobilya. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1956 when they moved to a farm north of Big Lake in Noble Township, Noble County.

Mr. Bobilya died Nov. 22, 1993. In 1998 Evelyn moved into Columbia City. She worked for Flash Fold Box Company in Fort Wayne for 10 years. Her church affiliation was with Sugar Grove Church of God.

Surviving relatives include a son, George V. (Marilyn) Bobilya of Albion; and a grandson, Douglas Kent (Lorie) Bobilya of Hartsel Colo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy Blankenship and a brother, Harry Edwards.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
